An explosion in Turkey: At least five people are reported dead as a car bomb exploded near military buildings in the capital, Ankara. Last month, a suicide bomber killed 10 people in Istanbul.

Aid delivered in Syria: The Red Crescent says a convoy reached the town of Muadhamiya, which is held by the rebels. Relief supplies are also headed to other rebel-held and government-controlled towns. The steps, it is hoped, result in a cessation of hostilities in the nearly five-year-long civil war.

The pope to visit Juarez: Francis is expected to express solidarity with migrants in the Mexican city, which is across the border from El Paso, Texas. It’s the pope’s final day of a six-day trip to Mexico.
