Military parade in China: China held a massive military parade today to mark its victory over Japan in World War II. President Xi Jinping used the occasion to announce that the military would be cut by 300,00 personnel. Update: More here.

Chinese navy off Alaska: Five Chinese naval ships were seen in international waters off the coast of Alaska, the Wall Street Journal reported. It’s the first time the U.S. military has seen Chinese vessels operating in the Bering Sea.

Hungary reopens station:  Hungary reopened the Keleti station to migrants today, but said services to Western Europe were suspended indefinitely. The country has seen an influx of migrants who are trying to reach Germany.  Update: More here.
