It's a Girl! Chelsea Clinton Welcomes Daughter Charlotte
Bill and Hillary are grandparents, at last.
.Chelsea Clinton gave birth to her first child, a daughter she and her husband Marc Mezvinsky named Charlotte.
The girl was born on Friday, but the announcement didn't come until early Saturday on Chelsea Clinton's Twitter and Facebook pages. Both Bill and Hillary Clinton retweeted the news, but offered no comment of their own.
Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky.
— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) September 27, 2014Clinton and Mezvinsky waited for the birth to find out the gender of the baby. "There are so few mysteries in life... in which any answer is a happy one," she recently told CNN.
Clinton announced her pregnancy in April at the end of a forum at the Lower Eastside Girls Club of New York. “I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child and hopefully children as my mom was to me,” said Chelsea Clinton at the time, as Hillary looked on.
