The funeral of 18-year-old Michael Brown is being held in St. Louis, Missouri today, two weeks after he was shot by a police officer in the suburb of Ferguson. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., EST at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
Michael Brown Sr. has called for calm in Ferguson on Monday, and a day without protests as he lays his son to rest.
Mourners have already begun to gather at the church, and thousands are expected to attend. Among those expected to be there are Rev. Al Sharpton (who will speak to the gathering), Congresswoman Maxine Waters, the parents of Trayvon Martin, and the son and daughter of Martin Luther King Jr.
