Nathaniel E. Kibby was arrested today at his home in Gorham, N.H. for the kidnapping of 14-year old Abigail Hernandez, who was last seen in October.
The website Bring Abby Home posted the following statement on Monday.
We really truly cannot thank everyone enough!! All the help, support and those who offered hope when we felt hopeless… THANK YOU!! You all are amazing people. Abby is home SAFE and the suspect is in custody!! THANK YOU!!!!"
Hernandez, who had been missing for nine months, re-appeared on July 20 at home. Her mother Zenaya Hernandez talked to The Today Show about the experience.
She was very thin...She lost a lot of weight, very pale. She had a look in her eyes that I've never ever seen before. That's something that's haunting me and I think will haunt me the rest of my life.
The Washington Post reported that Abby had described the day she was abducted, telling police that a large man with darkish skin and black stubble drove towards her in a navy blue pickup truck as she was leaving her high school on October 9.
