Choosing the Right Highway-Themed Obama Protest Movement for You

Congress and lobbying groups have big flashy ways of protesting Obamacare, but how can normal people, the regular patriots sitting at home, do their part? The most popular method, however unlikely it might seem, is to have highway-themed protests.

Congress can try to stop Obamacare will flashy (but probably doomed) legislative maneuvers. Conservative groups can try to stop the law with lobbying and a series of ads, some scarier than others. But how can normal people, the regular patriots sitting at home, do their part? The most popular method, however unlikely it might seem, is to have highway-themed protests.

As October 1 approaches, we should all be prepared to see more of these demonstrations on our interstates and city streets and freeway overpasses as protesters attempt to save America, impeach President Obama and stop Obamacare. You might even want to consider which one might be a good fit for you.

Shut down America with Truckers to Shut Down America

Do you happen to own a big rig? Check out Truckers To Shut Down America. They want to, yes, shut down America, and from October 11 to 13 they'll be striking as part of "Ride for the Constitution". As an event organizer told the group: "No commerce on those days stock up on items that you will need. No banking no shopping no money transactions." So definitely buy gas before you go.

They also won't be making deliveries, but instead driving to D.C. to call for the restoration of the Constitution, the defunding of Obamacare and the lowering of fuel prices. (One small hitch in this plan is the government shutdown over Obamacare, which some people are advocating for against all odds, would happen October 1, making the truckers a bit late to the game.) You might end up burning a lot of gas trying to drive your truck through the nation's capitol, but that's a sacrifice you have to be willing to make.

Stand on overpasses with Overpasses for America

Are you a Patriot? Do you support America? Most importantly, are you an Overpass, or a human willing to protest Obama while standing on one? If you answered yes to two or more of these then you might considered joining Overpasses for America.

Overpasses for America is a "non-partisan grass roots movement made up of everyday Americans who understand the value of the U.S. Constitution," according to their site. Protesters put anti-Obama signs on overpasses, or spell out anti-Obama slogans with cups strategically placed in chain-link fences.

America's government is in need of  "massive reform," the group says, and they'd like to start by seeing Obama and any other leaders who've violated the constitution "given the maximum sentence allowable by law." They've taken to the overpasses of America to call for Obama's impeachment for a number of crimes, including his push to pass the Affordable Healthcare Act (along with NSA spying a few other allegations of varying merit).

Bike to Places with 2 Million Bikers

If you prefer a traveling protest, but you don't have an 18-wheeler handy, there's always 2 Million Bikers, a group of not quite 2 million (or one, or even half a million — they have just under 300,000 Facebook likes) bikers who rode down to D.C. earlier this month to stop the Million American March Against Fear on the 12th anniversary of 9/11. The former "Million Muslim March" turned out to just be activist Cornell West and a handful of 9/11 Truthers, but the Bikers' peaceful protest was the real story of the day. This is the way to go if you want to honor the victims of 9/11 but also, as it says on their Facebook page,  "STAND AGAINST ANY 'FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION OF AMERICA' BY THIS ADMINISTRATION OR ANY PREVIOUS OR FUTURE ADMINISTRATION!"
