Public Policy Polling, the masters of getting press attention for inconsequential polls, have gotten our attention. Today the offering is a national poll of Americans' musical tastes. Instead of simply outlining what PPP found, we figured we'd give you a quiz to see how you compare.
It's simple. In each section — genres, artists, and other — click whether you like or dislike what's presented. When you do, pop-up charts will instantly display how you compare to the rest of America in your beliefs and, in some cases, a breakdown by demographic. The demographic data, we'll note, shows net approval — meaning, the number of people who approve of the artist or genre minus those who don't. This is helpful because some artists (ahem, Skrillex) many people have never heard of. So only some approve of him (and, presumably, his haircut) but only some disapprove as well.
Anyway. Here's your chance to see how American you are. Enjoy.
