JPod has an interesting column on the despicable Madoffs. I didn't realize that Ruth Madoff was trying to subvert one book about the scandal while propping-up another. The fact that the book she is subverting is a book by the widow of her dead-by-suicide son -- who killed himself out of shame and despair -- and that the widow is trying to raise their children -- well, it never really ends with this family:

Andrew needs money, and Ruth, in particular, is trying to help him get some. Well, so does Stephanie, who is raising her two children -- their grandchildren -- without a father. Even in the rubble of their lives, the Madoffs are still screwing their own family for their own selfish reasons.
