My claim is not that old media are perfect, it's that blogging is a format that makes producing good stuff difficult, which is why there's much less good stuff in the blogosphere

This is an argument best proffered in that alternative dimension where good fiction, good long-form journalism, good investigative journalism, good carpentry, good jazz, good ballet, and most pointedly good arguments, are produced with regularity and ease.

I deeply respect that world where hip-hop ended with Rapper's Delight, and comic books prompted serial killings. But unfortunately we live in this world, where people have to, like, work at things, and "This is hard" or "I don't like this, even though I'm doing this" aren't particularly convincing complaints.
