A male student was shot at West Middle School in Martinsville, Indiana Friday morning. The victim, who was reportedly shot twice in the stomach, has been taken to a hospital by helicopter for treatment.

Police have apprehended one suspect, but are still on the lookout for possible accomplices.

Local news sources report that the suspect in custody is a 15-year-old student at the school, and that "police believe the shooting stems from a dispute that started at a school dance earlier in the week." According to CNN, the student in custody may have been "recently expelled."

All schools in Martinsville are on lockdown this morning. Students at West Middle School will be bused to another location and released to their parents from there.
