Charles Johnson points us to the latest screed, topped by this endless headline:
"JIHADIST DEVELOPERS OF GROUND ZERO MOSQUE HIT UP 9/11 FUND TO REBUILD LOWER MANHATTAN FOR $5 MILLION JIZYA TO ERECT ISLAMIC SUPREMACIST MEGA-MOSQUE"
I really do believe that the art of headline-writing has suffered in the Internet age. When I was a kid, I wrote headlines on the overnight shift at The Philadelphia Daily News. Concision, wit, punchiness, these were the qualities that mattered. But now with limitless space comes the limitless headline. And in ALL-CAPS, no less. I do sometimes yearn for the old days, when talentless eccentrics were forced by circumstance to send their screeds to newspapers by postal mail. And when said newspapers could deposit said screeds in the waste bin.
