An Armful of Warm Girl

by W. M. Spaekman.Knopf, $6.95. A short, totally frivolous novel about a rich, spoiled, fastidious, woman-crazy Philadelphia aristocrat who, abruptly kicked out by his wife, flees to New York (“terrible place”) to pursue an old love with witaddling success. Taken seriously, the book could drive a conscientious feminist to apoplexy, for the female characters constantly coo and twitter about love and love alone. It should not be taken seriously. It is merely a Restoration comedy with the undercurrent of desperation left out.
