Animals and Men

by Kenneth Clark. Morrow, $19.95. At the instigation of Fleur Cowles, International Trustee of the World Wildlife Fund, Lord Clark undertook to discuss the relationship of men and animals through the ages as that relationship has been expressed, or implied, by artists. It is no vast surprise when the author discovers that man has always manipulated animals to serve his own purposes, but the point is made with grace and learning and the illustrations (84 in color) are a delight.
