John Williams Plays Two Guitar Concertos

(Columbia MS-7063). The concertos are those by Joaquin Rodrigo and Stephen Dodgson, and both are handled elegantly by Williams. The Rodrigo ā€œFantasia para un gentilhombreā€ is, of course, wellk nown by now, but the concerto by the London-born Dodgson represents a first recording, It is skilled and melodic, but not particularly characteristic of the guitar. Maybe it takes a Spaniard.
