Atlantic "Firsts"

For twenty-two years the ATLANTIC has held out a special incentive to short-story writers. In January, 1946, we began to publish what we called Atlantic “Firsts" — short stories by unestablished writers making their first appearance in our pages. We are happy to announce the following prizewinners for 1967:

First Prize of $750 awarded to JOHN DECK
for “Greased Samba
in the September issue

Second Prize of $250 awarded to JIB FOWLES
for “Babe the Blue Ox”
in the February issue
