THE well-known creator of ‘The Belvidere Hounds’ is gifted with a talent for drawing dogs that are definitely dogs and yet most extraordinarily and uncannily like men. In this instance his Airedales experience the same emotions and act in the same way as well-born Americans who lean slightly toward the doctrine of ‘America First.’ If the humor of the text is at times a trifle heavy, the illustrations and the really biting satire, ‘with teeth in it,’ will be appreciated by those who believe that all is not well with Americans who wish men of another nation to do their fighting for them.
