MORROW
THIS might be called an obstetrical romance in which the adventure-story technique is used in a plot most adventure-story writers would be too modest to deal with. Strange doings in Nazi Germany, where The Leader rapes a perfect-blonde-Aryan-type American girl in order to provide National Socialism with an heir. Dumas would have written three volumes on such an excellent setup, but after the baby appears Mr. Busch does not know what to do with it. The imagination of the reader goes on and on to the time when the baby shall have grown up. But no. The Leader is killed, revolution sets in, the baby is lost, and the mother falls in love with the obstetrician. Some excitement and plenty of horrors among people it is impossible to like. R. M. G.
