God's Hour-Glass

MAN is the Hour-glass of God!
And grain by grain his being flows
Out of the globe of surface shows
Into the globe below the sod!

Clear of the sunken sands of strife,
Gog turns below the body’s bowl —
And so upturns Man’s crystal soul
Brimmed with the golden grains of life!
