Six years after the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” the Department of Defense announced in another landmark decision to allow transgender soldiers to openly serve on the front lines of the military. The Obama Administration has made gains to make the military the most inclusive since integration. Army Secretary Eric Fanning joined The Atlantic's Steve Clemons to discuss battles fought to open the military to more Americans and how these broad changes for inclusion have impacted the Army.
