Chernobyl’s anniversary: Tomorrow marks the 30-year anniversary of the explosion at the Soviet power plant that killed several workers and exposed thousands of others to dangerous levels of radiation. About 120,000 people were evacuated from the surrounding area, including 43,000 from the Ukrainian city of Pripyat. Decades later, the cleanup continues. Alan has photos of the site here.
