Oscar Pistorius has sold his house in Pretoria, South Africa, in which he killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013.
This is the complex:
The four-bedroom luxury home is located in the gated Silver Woods Estate and sold for 4.5 million rand ($420,000). Ansie Louw, Pistorius' real estate agent and wife of his coach, said in March the Blade Runner had hoped to sell the property for at least five million rand to help pay for his legal defense.
The new owner, Louwtjie Lourens, told South Africa's Johannesburg Times that he will live in the house with his wife, son, and daughter when he retires, but will rent out the property until he moves in. Ironically, he chose the house for its safety.
"It is in a safe area and everyone I dealt with was very professional," he said, before noting possible repairs. "It stood empty for more than a year and there is some water damage, so we would first have to repair it."
As for Pistorius, final arguments for the trial will be heard next week, when Judge Thokozile Masipa will announce when she will hand down a verdict.
