The Foreign Media Explain Greece

From a reader in Vermont:

Last night I watched the network news. NBC spent about twenty seconds (really) on the European crisis and that sandwiched between stories of breast cancer stuff and Cain's whatever.

Aljazeera spent about eight minutes of a thirty minute broadcast on the story with reporters in Greece and Berlin and it was their lead story. And this business in Greece has the potential to bring us down. What gives?

The "what gives?" question is of course rhetorical.

From our friends at NMA in Taiwan, an animation that does more to clarify the Greek debt situation than a lot of "real" news I have seen, with liberal doses of ethnic stereotyping all around. Of course I am always a sucker for cartoons that feature ominously thuggish giant panda bears wearing Mao caps.
