Gay People Know How to Fight Like Hell
Okay, this is an overgeneralization, but based on my experience in the Dual-Loyalty Defense Forces, I would have to disagree with the implication of the question posed by the Marine Corps Commandmant, James Conway (who, by the way, is a very nice guy and an excellent Marine), who asked, in a congressional hearing, "Do we somehow enhance the war fighting capabilities of the United States Marine Corps by allowing homosexuals to openly serve?"
In my experience in Israel (where no one actually gives a shit if a soldier is gay), I can say that I've met some absolute warriors, in top commando units, who are gay, and who were respected for their fighting abilities. Their sexual orientation was completely immaterial to the way they were treated in their units. Most everyone I know would rather serve with a barrel-chested freedom fighter who happens to be gay, than with a jack-off who happens to be straight.
