We know there's a Lego Movie sequel on the way already, but let's for a second just imagine that it was directed by Wes Anderson. Fox Searchlight released a video today that documents the building of a Lego Grand Budapest Hotel in honor of the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Now, the sequel already has a director, Chris McKay, but Warner Bros. would be remiss not to embrace all Lego opportunities, which means taking the franchise to the art house. Picture the Anderson edition of a Lego movie: all about melancholy and lost childhood, and done in stop motion. Phil Lord and Chris Miller did something ingenious with the first Lego Movie, someone should make Wes now take a stab.
