Despite speculation that her role was drastically reduced, Laura Prepon will be back for "most" of the second season of Orange Is the New Black, according to series creator Jenji Kohan. Kohan told Us (coming to us via Vulture) that Prepon is returning for "Not the whole season, but...you'll see her for most of it."
Back in August, a month after the women's prison drama premiered on Netflix and became something of a phenomenon, the future of Prepon—who plays Alex Vause, a drug smuggler and current/former lover of the show's protagonist Piper—was unclear. BuzzFeed's Kate Aurthur had reported that Prepon would not be a series regular and would only "come back for a limited number of episodes in the show’s 13-episode second season in order to resolve her story."
It's worth noting that Prepon has been present in the show's Instagrams.
Meanwhile, while it's still not totally clear what's going on with Prepon, Lori Petty—Kit from A League of Their Own!—is joining the show, which is perfect in every way.
