There's now one big reason to look forward to the Oscar ceremony: the Academy has confirmed that Idina Menzel will be performing "Let it Go" at the ceremony.
It's not like we didn't see this coming since the Academy had already announced that Pharrell would be performing his nominated song "Happy" at the ceremony. (The Academy has not announced whether Pharrell will wear his infamous hat to perform, but his has been wearing it to other Oscar-related events.) And while it's likely that the other nominated songs will be performed by their respective artists, we fully expect Menzel's performance to be the centerpiece event.
With Frozen a massive box office success—and talk of franchise potential in the air—Disney trotted out their stars, including Menzel, this weekend to sing selections from the score. Menzel, reportedly, flubbed an early line in her big number, singing, "the snow never bothered me anyway" instead of "the cold never bothered me anyway." She joked: "A lot of girls say ‘a cold never bothered me anyway.’ I’m not blaming the little girls…" Regardless, she sounded great.
