While the Super Bowl is a great time for companies to spend an egregious amount of money hawking beer and cars, it's also a chance for the film industry to advertise its art. You know, high art like the fourth Transformers movie, or a few comic book adaptations, or a film based on a video game. There's tons of great, new, original stuff coming out of Hollywood these days.
Here they are.
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Look, I could go on about the creative stagnation that has brought us to this point, but all I really want to talk about is the robot whose face transforms into a gun. They ran out of places to put the guns, and so they had to replace the robot's face with a gun.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The first Captain America was a fun popcorn movie that was surprisingly endearing in its earnestness. This one looks way darker. You can tell it's going to be more dramatic because the helicarrier crashes into a building, signaling the end of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers as we know them, I bet. Robert Redford looks good though!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man in 2014 means a dubstep-lite backing track, digital artifacts, and lots of explosions. The only thing I thought about while watching this, however, was the injustice of Shailene Woodley's role getting cut from the film.
