Joaquin Phoenix is having some lady trouble in the new trailer for Spike Jonze's Her. The film, which received rapturous reviews out of the New York Film Festival, follows the story of a man (Phoenix) who falls in love with his operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson). As the latest trailer, just the second one to emerge, shows, that prompts questions from his ex-wife, played by Rooney Mara, and his friend, Amy Adams. Adams' character is more supportive, asking what it's like to be engaged in such a relationship. Mara is a little more bitter. (Though she seems to have a good point.) All these questions about the nature of love and human interactions are scored by the sounds of Arcade Fire.
Of course, Johansson's character is never actually seen in the movie, though her performance has been the source of awards chatter, despite the fact that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association ruled her ineligible for the Golden Globes.
