After taking on subjects like Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and the Rolling Stones, Martin Scorsese is making his next documentary about a political rockstar: Bill Clinton. Per Deadline, Scorsese is teaming with HBO to produce a documentary about Clinton, that will involve "full cooperation" from the former president. The film seeks to explore Clinton's worldview by presenting his opinions on topics ranging from politics to culture.
Since we know Clinton is good at speaking relatively off-the-cuff this is bound to be interesting. Of course, the all-in nature of Clinton's involvement, if recent projects with PBS and MSNBC (that one was called President of the World) are any indiction, is bound to make this a pretty laudatory endeavor. Scorsese even called him "transcendent" in a statement: "Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure."
But, hey, we know we'd like to sit in on a conversation between these two guys, so we'll be tuning in.
