Thank heavens David Letterman was on Live! today to say goodbye to Regis and clear the lingering taste of deliberate combativeness from our morning TV palettes. Letterman loves Regis and they enjoy terrific chemistry, so it goes without saying that the bits were funny. Then Letterman kissed him and compared him to Johnny Carson. And you know that means something [Live!]
The Avatar sequels won't be out until 2014 and 2015. That's way too long for James Cameron to wait without claiming to have reached the next frontier or pantheon or whatever of 3D movies. So he's rereleasing Titanic using the format. Now, many, many people liked Titanic in just two dimensions and for all the jokes about the box office dominance and Cameron's memorably bad dialogue, nobody in the audience moves during those last 90 minutes when the boat is going down. Instead of fiddling with a Best Picture winner, why can't he just play godfather to another Terminator TV spin-off show. God knows the networks never got tired of those. [The Hollywood Reporter]
