We realize there's only so much time one can spend in a day watching new trailers, viral video clips, and shaky cell phone footage of people arguing on live television. This is why every afternoon The Atlantic Wire highlights the day's video clips that truly earn your five minutes (or less) of attention. Today:
In July, Texas Rangers fan Shannon Stone died from injuries sustained during a fall from the bleachers at Arlington Stadium. He was reaching for a ball Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton flipped to his son, Cooper, who was by his side when he fell. Today, Cooper was on hand to throw out the first pitch prior to the team's playoff game against Tampa and it's not an exaggeration to say the moment was on par with any of the iconic baseball moments from the past three days. Try as we might, we've yet to find anyone who wasn't moved by the new viral video that show Sloan Churman, a 29 year-old Canadian who's been death since birth, discovering she can hear after getting an implant to stabilize her eardrum. It's what pure joy looks like. Just watch. [Mashable]
IFC's Harvey Weinstein documentary Unauthorized has its first trailer. and it's worth watching since the movie itself is only going to be available on Sundance's streaming video service. The floating head testimonials don't offer much new, but it's a reminder that say what you will about Weinstein, the man at least knew how to cut a punch trailer. [Movieline]
