Pulitzer Prize winners were announced today, and this year's honorees include novelist Jennifer Egan and American historian Eric Foner. The annual prizes reward both journalism and book-length writing. Here's the list of winners in the book-length categories:

POETRY - "The Best of It: New and Selected Poems" by Kay Ryan (Grove Press)
GENERAL NONFICTION - "The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer" by Siddhartha Mukherjee (Scribner)
