List of the Day: 45 More Ways to Leave Your Lover

>Paul Simon started writing his 1975 hit "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" to teach his son about rhyme, but the song is also a lesson in hyperbole—despite claiming "there must be 50 ways to leave your lover," Simon lists just five.

The blog This Is My Favorite Song has finished the job Simon started, offering 45 additional ways to get yourself out of a not-so-great relationship. Some are funny in their randomness (#14: Buy her an ugly rug, Doug.; #17: Ruin her grandma's quilt, Milt.), but most are lame enough (#12: Forget her birthday, Clay; #50: Just ask her to leave, Steve.) to make you appreciate the fact that Simon stopped at, "Just drop of the key, Lee."
