A reader writes:
You missed the most frustrating part of McCain's interview with Lauer yesterday. The interview starts with McCain reciting talking points against Reid's use of the word "Negro", saying he had no idea that language like "that" was still in use in 2010. But after Lauer starts asking questions about Palin from "Game Change", McCain argues that he just got back from Afghanistan where "3 Americans died" and suggests Lauer's questions are inappropriate.
So just for the record:
- Comments Reid made (and freely admits making) during the 2008 campaign are important and need to be addressed prior to discussing American combat deaths, but
- Key decisions made by the man auditioning for Commander-in-Chief during the 2008 campaign are less important than American combat deaths.
