At the link below you can see an EXTREMELY eye-opening visual representation of how many chickens, pigs, and cows are slaughtered in this country in real time.  Let me just tell you I am not an animal rights extremist - but I do find the amount of meat we produce and eat in this country to be grossly excessive.  I'm sure the environmental impact and the impact on health care costs in this country is of great interest to you.  Factory farming is the single biggest contributor to global warming - everyone really needs to open their eyes to that fact.
