Sen. Lindsey Graham may need a hug. Or a teddy bear. Whatever comfort you have, he needs it – because as Jon Stewart and The Daily Show team pointed out on last night's show, he is terrified of everything.

This past Sunday, Graham said of the Islamic state, "This president needs to rise to the occasion before we all get killed back here at home." Stewart thought that was perhaps a touch dramatic – but par for the course for a man who, for the past 13 years, has seen Doomsday all around him.

"The poor man lives his entire life trapped in The Blair Witch Project," Stewart said. "I've seen chihuahuas in handbags who are less fretful and shaking."

But 'on the scene' at Graham's office, correspondent Samantha Bee urged Stewart that the senator's ISIS paranoia was nothing more than a call for security.

"He's just urging caution and vigilance," Bee said, "as he did last month when he proposed the Mandatory Nightlight Act of 2014."

Unfortunately, the gasps and yelps of terror heard behind Graham's office door seemed to indicate he's not quite ready to face the world. Bee looked horrified, but was apologetic on his behalf.

"Jon! He's working on it!" Bee insisted. "Baby steps."
