Aviva Drescher, Aviva Drescher's Leg Reportedly Fired from 'Real Housewives of New York City'
The only thing that will be artificial or fake about Drescher's presence next season will be "all of it."
Aviva Drescher, writer, mother, Vassar graduate, and amputee who will best be remembered for throwing her prosthetic leg across the room on cable television, has reportedly been fired from Bravo's Real Housewives of New York City.
Us Weekly confirmed an earlier Page Six report that Drescher, who had been a cast member for the past two seasons, would not be returning. After claiming medical leave to get out of multiple cast trips last season, Drescher's name and image was removed from the opening credits for two episodes.
However, Drescher came back with a vengeance in the season's final episodes. During the finale, upon being questioned by other housewives as to the veracity of her health claims, Drescher stood her ground with X-rays and charts. Upon being called a liar, she responded by saying, "The only thing that is artificial or fake about me ... is THIS."
She then removed her prosthetic leg and slammed it on the table. Shortly after, she threw it across the room – said room being swanky New York restaurant Le Cirque.
Drescher has yet to comment on her reported firing, but she does appear to be keeping busy:
