Yesterday, the teaser trailer for Horrible Bosses 2 hit the internet, and guess what music cue they decided to go for? Yes, DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s “Turn Down For What” continues its unabated march towards official “song of the summer” status, and that includes pervading every form of media you can think of. The Wire remains committed to keeing a running count of every ridiculous example that crops up.

Horrible Bosses 2

There’s a little prelude with Kevin Spacey’s character in jail, but the second the needle drops in this trailer, there’s only one song they want us to hear.

22 Jump Street

22 Jump Street managed to squeeze “Turn Down For What” into the movie itself, instantly making it seem very current while also dooming the film to appearing ridiculously dated a year from now. Some intrepid YouTuber even managed to clip the scene and get it on the internet, and I’m sure no movie studio will have a problem with that.

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

Fallon had Seth Rogen and Zac Efron on to promote Neighbors and dressed them up in teenager drag to be on his show Ew! At one point, they all start grinding to “Turn Down For What,” because it’s a song that’s on the radio!

Saturday Night Live

Easily the best parody so far was Andy Samberg’s “When Will the Bass Drop?” digital short from his SNL hosting gig this year, where he just absolutely refuses to drop the bass for his crowd until he explodes their brains with it. Lil Jon, always happy to spoof himself, shows up at the end to scream “Get Turned Up To Death!” Oh, Jon, it’s always nice to have you around.
