Gerry Goffin, who was husband and collaborator to Carole King, died today at the age of 75. Together Goffin and King wrote some of the most memorable hits of the 60s, from the vulnerable ballad "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" to psychedelic "Porpoise Song."

In a statement King said that Goffin was "my first love." The two met at Queens College, and married when she was still in her teens. She wrote: "His words expressed what so many people were feeling but didn't know how to say." King also tweeted a tribute:
