Former SNL castmates Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig are abandoning, at least in part, silliness in the trailer for their upcoming film, The Skeleton Twins. The film finds them playing twins, each of whom has been contemplating and attempting suicide, coming together after years of estrangement.

The movie was a hit at Sundance, where people were especially surprised by Hader's work. (Wiig has had her share of lead roles and dramatic turns already in her post SNL career.) "Not even the memory of Hader’s lovably drugged-out club kid Stefon from 'SNL' can distract from what he accomplishes here, including a piercing speech about flawed notions of 'peaking' in high school," Geoff Berkshire wrote in his review for Variety.

The trailer also showcases what Kyle Buchanan of Vulture called the movie's "showpiece sequence" in which Hader's character coaxes Wiig into a choreographed lip sync of Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now." It looks delightful, even if the rest of the movie seems more contemplative.
