Which Michiel Huisman Did You Prefer This Weekend?

Beard-y and cocky, like on Game of Thrones, or beard-y and betrayed, like on Orphan Black

This weekend's TV had a lot of Michiel Huisman. The Dutch actor, who is seemingly everywhere these days, made his debut on Orphan Black this Saturday in a pivotal role. Then, on Sunday, he was hobnobbing with Daenerys on Game of Thrones. Of course, Huisman didn't come out of nowhere. Most people know him from his role on Treme or as the sexy, flirty record producer on Nashville. But at present he has the special honor of being on two of the most zeitgeist-y shows currently airing. So, we ask. Which Michiel Huisman is your preferred Michiel Huisman?

Orphan Black Michiel Huisman

Orphan Black Michiel Huisman had more to do than Game of Thrones Michiel Huisman this weekend. He is introduced in Saturday's episode as Cal, a guy Sarah once grifted, who also happens to be the father of her daughter Kira, who instantly recognizes him as her father. (Sarah, you might remember, is the only clone that we know of to reproduce making Kira a precious commodity among the clones enemies.) Sarah brings Kira and Felix's to Cal's middle-of-nowhere place, ostensibly for shelter, but also to let Kira meet Cal. He's initially reluctant to engage, knowing that Sarah once stole from him and bolted.

Orphan Black Michiel Huisman appears—as far as we know—to be the sensitive type, who goes out of his way to protect Kira. That said! Who knows? Anyone on this show could potential be a threat, and Cal has an interesting past too as a designer of drone pollinators. Seems symbolic.

Game of Thrones Michiel Huisman

Sunday's episode isn't a big one for Game of Thrones Michiel Huisman, also known as the re-cast Daario. (He didn't pee after winning a contest of strength, anyway.) However! He and Dany do exchange some barbs after she learns that she now controls the Meerenese navy. "Who told you to take their navy?" she asks. "No one," he responds. "So why did you do it?" "I heard you liked ships," he says, shrugging. Sass!

So: which is your preferred Michiel Huisman? Part of the charm of the Golden Age of Television is that you don't really have to choose.
