After a period away from the media's harsh gaze, Anna Hathaway announced her return to the spotlight on last night's Tonight Show, crooning a medley of rap songs like they were Broadway ballads. She even threw in a line about Hatha-Haters. Yes, Hathaway proved totally predictable, but this time she put her theater kid hat on in a proud screw-you to her critics.

The bit is a rehash of one Fallon did at Late Night with Ariana Grande, who had the benefit of being far less self-aware than Hathaway will ever be. The Hathway-Fallon duet is groan-worthy on various levels, but props to Hathaway for continuing to do her thing even as she can likely feel the wheels of the snark machine turning.
