Kimye Won This Round
Last year, Kim Kardashian fiancé and baby daddy Kanye West told Ryan Seacrest, "There is no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She is the most intriguing woman right now. She has got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday." It's 2014, and her time has finally come.
Well, both their times have come. The soon-to-be married couple landed the April Vogue cover (and in an aspirational wedding-themed editorial inside). Anna Wintour even figured out what hashtags are for the occasion.
West has long been ridiculed for thinking Kardashian deserves to be on the cover, but honestly, Vogue is not too good for Kimye. Yes, Kardashian has a fashion line at Sears, but she also commands way more social media fans and TV viewers than Vogue's last controversial star, Lena Dunham. As The Cut's Stella Bugbee puts it, the mag is finally "embracing mass culture and admitting that they are a super market brand."
Most importantly, Vogue.com gives us another precious look at the heir to America herself, North West.

Kardashian is pleased.
