News broke today Tina Fey is going to star in an adaptation of reporter Kim Barker's memoir The Taliban Shuffle. Michiko Kakutani called this one back in 2011.

In describing the book in her review for the New York Times Kakutani wrote that "though [Barker] develops the chops of a veteran foreign correspondent, she depicts herself as a sort of Tina Fey character, who unexpectedly finds herself addicted to the adrenaline rush of war."

So there you have it. Even though the project definitely sounds like an anomaly for Fey—the book may well have black humor, but, Kakutani excepted, one doesn't immediately picture Fey in war zones—the part is apparently perfect for her.

The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit reported that Fey's collaborators are also on board. 30 Rock executive producer Robert Carlock wrote the script, and Lorne Michaels is producing along with Fey.
