Bill Nye was already your favorite person before he captured what might be the first documented selfie with the President of the United States of America. So, just in case it wasn't clear, we all owe him a great bit of thanks for existing.

Nye uploaded this picture to Instagram on Friday evening, showing himself in a suit, complete with a fancy bowtie, standing next to President Obama and fellow luminary Neil Degrasse Tyson. The President left the White House after delivering his speech about the developing situation in Ukraine for a Democratic National Committee meeting at the Capitol Hilton in Washington, according to the White House pool report.

This is, so far as we can tell, the first documented selfie ever taken with the President. The Mandela funeral selfie that caused such a hullaballoo does not count; the photo never surfaced. After scouring the Internet for mere minutes, we could not even discover any selfies from the campaign trail, though they must exist. We will forever cherish this picture though because, seriously, look at the smiles on those faces. And Tyson's intergalactic tie!
