A new Doctor on Doctor Who meant, if nothing else, a new outfit for the show's titular Time Lord, and here it is.

The BBC revealed the outfit that Peter Capaldi will be wearing when he assumes the role as the new season of the show begins. While Matt Smith's out-going Doctor had an affinity for a tweed jacket, suspenders, and bow ties (which he insisted were cool), Capaldi's will don a Crombie coat, what appears to be a cardigan, and Doc Martens. The costume announcement appears to have crashed the Crombie website.

Per the BBC, Capaldi said of his new duds: "He's woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord."

Online, the new look has been compared to Doctor Strange and Dracula, with a hint of magician. We're just curious as to whether those pants are intentionally drop-crotch. We never thought the Doctor would have something in common with Justin Bieber.
