'House of Cards' Has Already Won Two Emmys

Yes the behind the scenes awards that are too boring to be doled out during the telecast for the Primetime Emmys (reminder: set your DVR for this Sunday) were given out in Los Angeles last year and Netflix's first big original hit walked away with two trophies.

The Kevin Spacey political drama won for Best Cinematography for a Single Camera Drama Series (not specific at all) and for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, besting Downton Abbey, Homeland, Game of Thrones, and The Good Wife (which consistently has the best cast of secondary characters on all of television).

In other awards you might care about, South Park won for Outstanding Animated Series and Undercover Boss won for Outstanding Reality Documentary Series. Project Runway's Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn won for Outstanding Reality Show Host, now that Jeff Probst took himself out of the running. Melissa Leo and Bob Newhart won for Outstanding Guest Role in a Comedy Series for Louie and The Big Bang Theory and Dan Bucatinsky and Carrie Preston won for Outstanding Guest Role in a Drama for Scandal and The Good Wife (I told you the casting is amazing).

Other top winners of the night were HBO's Liberace campfest Behind the Candelabra with eight awards and Boardwalk Empire and the Tony Awards telecast, which each won four (including one for Primetime Emmys host Neil Patrick Harris). But Netflix is already questioning the national order of things and this year the best in TV might end up not having been on a TV at all.
