Wrestling star Darren Young became the first WWE athlete to come out as gay on Thursday morning. TMZ, of all places, stumbled upon the scoop. A TMZ reporter asked Young at LAX whether or not a hypothetical gay wrestler could succeed, and Young responded, nonchalantly "absolutely," Young went on, "look at me. I'm a WWE superstar, and to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay. And I'm happy. I'm very happy."
Update: Looks like Young might want to update his Twitter bio. Right now it reads that his life revolves around "money, women, and wrestling." Which, we guess, it could, regardless of his sexual orientation.
Young, born Fred Rosser, has been with WWE since 2005.
