After a six-day stay in the ICU that begun with confusing and frightening reports of seizures and possibly drugs that more or less broke Twitter on Friday, we can say (pretty much) for sure that Weezy has left the building. Here's why:
TMZ Hasn't Scrubbed a Story Yet!
"Lil Wayne said ICU later to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood ... because TMZ has learned he was just released," reported the site around 11 p.m. last night. On Friday night, of course, the site said the rapper was "receiving his last rites":
TMZ later changed and updated its story to remove the "last rites" report without addressing its correction (there is still no correction on its original story). The new TMZ story, unlike its "last rites" report, hasn't been removed from the site without being addressed. So, you know, news!
Mack Maine Is a Legitimate Source of Information Now!
This is one of those wonderful times when legit news outlets like CNN have to simultaneously explain the hierarchy of the Young Money Label and Twitter. Like so:
On Monday night, Mack Maine, the president of Wayne's label, Young Money, thanked the hospital.
"@LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home...God is great," he tweeted.
Lil Tunechi is Lil Wayne's nickname, as well as his Twitter handle.
Nicki Minaj Had a Good Time This Weekend!
At a visit with Wayne at Cedars, Nicki Minaj, judger of American Idols, apparently broke down crying. "She cried because she didn’t want to see him in the hospital with s**t in his arms and doctors around," a "source" told Hollywood Life. But all in all, she had a good visit with him and Wayne seemed "cool." Cool!
