The BCS Quarterback's Girlfriend Got Asked on One Very Strange Twitter Date

The Twitterverse woke up Tuesday morning to NFL player Darnell Dockett virtually trying to woo Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron's girlfriend with the tempting prospect of ... fried chicken wings and a visit to a Miami strip club.

The most riveting part of last night's BCS championship game obviously wasn't Alabama's 42-14 stomping of Notre Dame. It wasn't even when ESPN play-by-play man Brent Musburger called Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron's girlfriend "that lovely lady there." No, what the Twitterverse woke up to Tuesday morning was NFL player Darnell Dockett virtually trying to woo said girlfriend with the tempting prospect of ... fried chicken wings and a visit to a Miami strip club. That's a pretty low-rent date if you're courting one of the most Googled women in America: Ms. Katherine Webb — the reigning Miss Alabama and longtime girlfriend of McCarron, who just won his second straight national title. Yet bizarrely, that's exactly the kind of date Dockett, who plays defensive end for the Arizona Cardinals, proposed over Twitter during the came:

-- @_KatherineWebb aye u going to king of diamonds Monday after game?

-- Aye @_KatherineWebb hit me (240) 464-xxxx when game over, lets go to wing stop then King of diamond

A chicken-wing chain? That's (not) fancy. And "King of diamond [sic]" is a Miami gentlemen's club. Dockett deleted those tweets, but he left this one up:

Which is weird. If anything, that admission just drew more attention to the tweets. There is, of course, a big chance this is a hoax: As SBNation reports, the number Dockett gave out wasn't his. "To whom does the number belong? A pop warner cheerleading coach in Maryland, as far as we can tell. Its voice mailbox is full. Yes, we called it. Awkward," Bud Elliott wrote. Like what if Ms. Webb really wanted to cash in on that promising date?

But ... again, this is the same guy who once live-tweeted being pulled over and as Elliott points out, "this is the guy who once tweeted about how the love he would make with Oprah Winfrey would be, 'hotter than fish grease.'"

And McCarron didn't seem too offended that someone was tempting his girlfriend with 10 mouth-watering flavors of chicken wings:

That said, Wingstop and King of Diamonds — Dockett is on your guys' payrolls, right? Because maybe he should be.
